Central to our Full-time PGDM program is the belief that business functions should not be addressed in isolation. Managers require a broad, integrated range of business skills to negotiate the complexities of the business world with confidence. The aim of the GURU NANAK Full-time PGDM PROGRAM is to develop leadership capabilities among students to achieve personal and organizational success.The curriculum of PGDM is spread over 4 Semesters in order to incorporate fundamental concepts in the initial phase followed by the application of the same.In the first year after joining, students will undergo orientation program followed by courses in General Management as well as major functional areas such as Finance and Account, Marketing, Production and personnel. They are also exposed to the basic disciplines of economics, Behavioural Science, Computers and Quantitative Methods. At the end of each semester the learning will be reinforced by means of presentations, Paper submission, project work, workshops, case studies, Role - plays & Seminars. Students will be encouraged to contribute to learning process by sharing the accumulated knowledge and work experience through active and joyful participation.
Stage One: Fundamentals
This covers the core knowledge base required by all managers. In this stage, you will learn about: People, where you will learn about understanding individual differences, motivation, teamwork, leadership and self awareness; Processes, in which you will learn about marketing, strategy, human resource management, operations and information systems; and Performance, which is concerned with the delivery of financial and non financial outcomes in organizations.Stage Two: Integration
This is an innovative part of the program which is based on our research into the issues that preoccupy many of the senior executives we work with. We believe that management is an integrative process and the work of managers is concerned not just with the functional areas of business, but with their synthesis.Global business environment considers strategic decision-making in a global context. Never before have corporate environments been so complex and uncertain. To help managers deal with these fundamental challenges, this stage focuses on the forces that continually re-shape the global environment. It provides a set of tools and frameworks designed to enhance your understanding and help you develop better foresight. Leading change focuses on the key challenges for managers and leaders to bring about change in organizations and to mobilize collective action. By focusing initially on models of leadership (and follower) behaviour, you will develop an insight into your own personal leadership style and how this can be further developed when implementing change.
You will be engaged in a business simulation which applies, integrates and develops your learning in a realistic environment. Creating value explores how organisations add and create value for shareholders or stakeholders, customers and employees. The module starts by taking a close look at the fundamentals of shareholder value, before exploring value drivers and levers at the corporate, business, operational and management levels. The focus is on the numerous and complex internal and external relationships between products, processes and resources that create or destroy value. In this module, a live case study provides hands-on experience of the multiple intricacies of the value creation challenge. Using case studies and an in-depth review of a major organization that has passed through each stage, you will explore approaches to strategic choices at each stage of the life-cycle.
Stage Three: The summer project
The summer project is an opportunity for you to apply your learning to a strategic challenge, faced by an organization. Under faculty supervision, you have the opportunity to work as a consultant to a client company on a project. The summer project is a crucial element of the curriculum and contributes significantly towards your overall assessment. If participants prefer to use Stage Three to develop their own business ideas further there is an opportunity to undertake an entrepreneurial project. Equally, those people looking to deepen their theoretical knowledge can opt to write a dissertation.Stage Four:
The Second year academic work spread over two terms comprises of some core courses and electives. These provide Students the opportunity to develop in-depth understanding and concentration in areas of their special Interest. The course curriculum has extra credits to its structure. Be it, Marketing, Human Resource Management or Financial Management or any other emerging field, the entire dynamics of business education and Management has been translated into a critical need for quality education.Electives

The Specialisation in Marketing focuses on understanding the market, the consumers, the marketing models and approaching different situations with winning marketing strategies for the organizations. The context of Asia provides a strong focus on this specialization. This program prepares students for a career in product management, international marketing, advertising, direct marketing, consumer relations and sales.Finance
The last decade has seen the emergence of new concepts in various areas of finance, investments and economics. The GURU NANAK PGDM Specialization in Finance focuses on the concerns of the financial industry, covering topics like international financial management, private equity mergers & acquisition, options & futures and corporate governance. This program equips our students with strategic management skills to prepare them for success in both the regional and international financial arenas.Human Resource Management
The Specialization in Human Resource Management focuses on the behavioural and strategic issues facing contemporary organizations. The program aims to cultivate a spirit of innovation and streamline business processes, in the areas of planning, change management and human resource management. It also provides a comprehensive overview of the major elements of the labour laws, including evaluation of new businesses, intellectual property protection and manpower planning.
