B.Tech - Computer Science & Engineering

Computer science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and of practical technique for their implementation and application in computer systems. It is frequently described as the systematic study of algorithmic processes that create, describe and transform information.

Some Highlights of Department Laboratories

• CSE lab is equipped with 100 mbps switched network. All systems(servers & clients) are equipped with 10/100 mbps Ethernet cards. CISCO Catalyst 2900 switch is acting as back bone switch. It is a tree topology network. Through one linux router this lab is connected to rest of (HCEM) fiber backbone and Internet. 24 more 24 ports 1000 Mbps switches are there to cater whole CSE building.
• Eight wireless access pints (54 Mbps) are placed in the building to serve wireless neds.
• Mail box backup is also available for last 12 hours
• Two Xeon linux servers provide NFS service for all CSE Lab users.
• Intranet website & personal home pages are hosted on Linux (Fedora) based server.
• Scanning & CD Writing facility is also available in the CSE - Lab.
• Most of the PC's in rooms are equipped with laser printer and DVd ROM cum CD- Writer unit.
• CSE- Lab is fully air conditioned & UPS protected. 60 minute backup is for lab client systems and 2 hour backup is for all server systems and room PCs.
• Daily automatic backup is for user's home directory. Ii is available for last 30 days.

Job Outlook

Employment of computer software engineers is expected to increase by 32 percent between 2008-2018, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. In addition, this occupation will see a large number of new jobs, with, more than 3 lakhs created between 2008 and 2018.
