BCA - Bachelor in Computer Applications

There will be one full- time Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Application (BCA). The duration of the course shall be three years (ie. Three academic sessions). Each year will be divided into two semesters (July-December, Jan-June). There will be about 90 teaching days in a semester. The examinations will be held in around December and May for the first/third/fifth and second/fourth/sixth semesters respectively or as convenient to the University.

Eligibility for Admission

The candidate, seeking admission to the BCA Degree course must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics from a recognised Board/University. The procedure for selection of the candidate for admission in the course shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

Attendance

Every candidate is required to attend all the lectures, tutorials, practical and other prescribed curricular and co-curricular activities. It can be condoned up to 25% on medical grounds or for other genuine reasons.

A further relaxation of attendance up to 15% can be given by the Principal/Dean/Director of the Institute for the students, who has been absent with prior permission, for reasons accepatable by the Head of the Institution / College / University.

No candidate will be allowed to appear in the end semester examination if he/she does not satisfy the overall average attendance.

Total number of seats

There will be a maximum of 60 (sixty) seats for each year of the program in the Department. Reservation for general category will be as per the policy of the Uttarakhand Government.

Curriculum

The 3(three) years curriculum will be divided into six semesters. Each semesters include lecture, tutorials, practical and seminars as defined in the scheme of instructions and examinations.

It will also include co-curricular and extra curricular activities as prescribed from time to time by the Institute / College / University.
